Message From the Principal
Kokrajhar Music & Fine Arts College was establisled in 1996 which is recently renamed as Dr. Sobha Brahma Music & Fine Arts College especially to accomplish the long aspired dreams of many visionaries, to preserve, protect and propagate the culture, tradition and customs for positivity of the tribals of the region. It has supplemented new dimension today to create jobs, foster skill development, organize various events to inculcate responsibility in the local youths, to disseminate friendshipwith others and much more. Kokrajhar Music & Fine Arts College offers two programs i.e. BFA & B.Music. In the beginning the college was affiliated to Gauhati University and had Govt. concurrence under Department of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Assam. But it has newly been affiliated to Bodoland University since 2017. Furthermore, a few subjects in the likes of Bodo Folk Song & and Bodo Folk Dance, Kham, Serja and Sifung were added to Traditional Music in the year 2018.
Dr Sobha Brahma Music & Fine Arts College is a distinguished institute for Visual Art training & imparts education in the field of Fine Arts and the training development of the traditional and indigeneous form of music and dance, propagation of Hindustani classical music and Indian classical dance forms. The Dr Sobha Brahma Music and Fine Arts was established in the year 1996 with the concemted move, cooperation and selfless dedication of the people of the area. This is the only college providing higher education in the field of Music & Fine Art recognized by the Govt. and affiliated to Gauhati University in the entire BTAD area which is now affiliated under the Bodoland University since 2017. The college is amalgamated concurrence under the Deptt. Of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Assam. The main objectives of this Institution are serving the backward people and the humanity educationally and culturally as a whole and to uplift them by imparting college and university level of education and adequate training through Art and Music. Development of indiganous art, indigenous music and dance, generation of employment avenue in the area. To provide a linkage between the BTR area and other parts of the country for the development of a healthy society with peace, unity and harmony.
